Siamese Cats |

Siamese cats are thought to be originally from
Siam (now Thailand) and they are the most recognizable of all
Oriental cats. The first in Britain are said to have been a
gift from King Chulalongkorn to Owen Gould who was the English
Consul-General in Bangkok.
All Siamese cats have cream or fawn coats with different color
points on the outer extremities of their body. The original
point was seal then chocolate, lilac and blue were later introduced
and registered.
Perhaps their most striking and appealing feature is their eyes
which are slanted almond shaped and always bright blue in color.
Siamese cats are very elegant with distinctive large ears, wedge
shaped heads, long tails and short fur. Originally, Siamese
cats had kinked tails and a squint which have been the basis
of many fables about the Siamese cat. These features have, however,
been bred out over the years.
